The Old Town Playhouse
COUNTRY MUSIC MUSICIANS: We’ve used rock bands, cabaret bands, and even marching band but for this show we need an authentic country music band. We’re looking for individual players or an existing band. If you know someone who fits the bill, please contact us at PatsyCline@oldtownplayhouse.com

Notes
Please consider that the woman cast in this role will need not only the vocal quality of Patsy Cline but the endurance to sing 27 songs over a period of 110 minutes for 13-18 performances, plus rehearsals. The Directors will cast an Understudy. The show is approximately 110 minutes long. Be sure to read the summary of the show and the titles of the 27 songs Patsy will sing during each performance.
WHAT WE SEEK IN OUR PATSY CLINE
- Vocal quality.
- Realistic interpretation of Patsy Cline.
- Articulation, diction and a facsimile of a Virginia accent during dialogue, not necessary during songs.
- Stage presence.
Patsy needs to be comfortable interacting with an audience.
Patsy was fundamentally a shy woman, and a non-flamboyant singer who captured an audience through her voice and her soulful genuine demeanor. - Commitment and endurance.
THE PROCESS
- Our panel of judges will review the audition recordings, and will choose anywhere from 12-20 semi-finalists (Each entry will be heard by 3-5 different people).
- Semi finalists will be contacted individually and will be announced on all the websites as well as on WTCM by July 10.
- Those not qualifying for the semi-final round will also be notified.
- During the week of July 12, semi-finalists will be required to attend one or two meetings and rehearsals in preparation for the final judging. Auditionees will practice with the karaoke back-up that will be used for the public performance. Each auditionee will receive a short list of Patsy Cline songs, any of which she may be asked to sing in the public performance.
- Prior to the public performance, the directing staff will interview auditionees individually and ask them to read some dialogue from the script. Although separate from the performance, this portion of the audition will influence the directing staff's casting choice.

All decisions made by the directing staff will be final.
